Anyone know if DDEC has fail safe type mode that it reverts to when it is carrying a lot of historical codes? Do you have to keep the codes cleared to get the best fuel mileage? I have a 6V92 running DDEC 2. |

Yes, no, and no. That is, yes I know, no it does not revert to any kind of reduced-performance setting based on historical codes (only active ones), and no, you do not need to clear historical codes for better performance or mileage. DDEC-II will only show you codes that are currently active, or have been active during the current "session." If you want to keep a longer code history, get something like a SilverLeaf, which has its own historical memory. -Sean |

dont forget it dedec is read only memory ,so if you have a lot of historic codes it eats up the memory . You will find typical sorces such as oil pressure sender ,fuelpressure sender. if you have dirty oil the sender carbons up and sends codes to the ecm . It needs I forget how longa code length of so many seconds to give you an active code . it will still log the histtoric codes |
